The Children's Miracle Network Telethon aired June 5-6, at the Bangor Mall.  Each year the Bangor Chapter of Credit Unions partners with CMN in their fundraising efforts to help provide critical care to local area children in need of medical assistance.

This year, Mary Jo Freeman of EMMC FCU and David Defroscia, VP of Operations at Brewer FCU presented a check for $19,900 at the telethon hosted by WABI TV-5.  We also had the honor of presenting a Miracle Match check for an additional $10,000.

Congratulations to Jon S. of Bangor, who won the New England Patriots/Buffalo Bills tickets, limousine ride, and $200.00 in cash for their game in September.

"We are very pleased and honored each year to participate in the CMN fundraising effort through our annual auction, raffles, and other various fundraising activities.  By enhancing awareness, raising money, and the generosity of members, volunteers, and staff each year, we are able to make a difference in a child's life in our own community," said Defroscia, former President of the Bangor Chapter of Credit Unions.

Annual Ending Hunger in Maine Yard Sale

This year's yard sale was held on June 4, at the North Main Street parking lot.  Members of the credit union and the community generously gave for a good cause and got some gently used treasures in return.

Hot dogs and cold drinks were on hand for a donation to the effort.  Staff and volunteers manned the grill and helped the patrons cash up their items.

Thanks to Maine Equipment and Party Rental of Outer Hammond Street in Bangor for their generous donated use of tables in which we displayed our yard sale items. Also thanks to Parker K. Bailey & Sons, Inc.  of State Street in Brewer, for their generous donated use of the BOD (Bailey's on Demand) portable storage unit where we housed our items before the sale.

We raised $577.00 for Ending Hunger in Maine, in which all proceeds stay right here to help our neighbors in need.

Self Service Coin Counter at Available Dirigo Drive

This coin counter is a new addition to the Dirigo Drive office for your convenience.  It only accepts American coins, does not accept half dollar or dollar coins.

There is no charge for Brewer FCU members or Non-Profit organizations.  There is a 5% service fee for non-members which is donated to the Ending Hunger in Maine Campaign.

Bring your loose coins to Dirigo Drive and "change" it into dollar bills in no time!
