What Is IDCheck?
IDCheck: Shared Branching Identity Verification
We understand how critical it is to protect yourself from fraud, identity theft, and scams. Unfortunately, these are issues we deal with every day.
To help safeguard against fraud, the national CO-OP together with the participating credit unions are introducing a new ID proofing measure for all in-person, out-of-state withdrawals via shared branching called IDCheck. This new fraud prevention measure allows us to make certain it is you trying to access your account, not an imposter.
We will utilize IDCheck when making a cash withdrawal of more than $200.
IDCheck for out of state shared branching
If you bank at one of our Shared Branching locations in another state, a teller can now identity and authenticate members through ID verification.
How It Works:
Scan the QR code (available in the credit union lobby) with your smart device, or visit verify.coop.org
Select your home credit union’s name from a drop-down list.
Enter your account number and the last four digits of your social security number.
Upload a photo of the front and back of a valid ID.
Take a selfie for verification against the photo on your ID. You can save your photo validation for an even quicker experience next time.
Show your one-time passcode to the teller. They will verify your information and complete your transaction.
